Dr. Johnson grew up in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, a rural area with many farms and animals. He grew up exploring nature in the prairies with his friends. Spending time freshwater fishing, and camping during the summer months are some of his favorite past times. In the winter months, he enjoyed ice fishing, and snowboarding, taking advantage of the north’s cold weather. During high school, he started volunteering at a veterinary clinic, and he quickly fell in love with the profession. He attended university in his hometown with the goal of getting into The Western College of Veterinary Medicine, where he received his DVM. Since then, Dr. Johnson has enjoyed working in several different settings; a rural community in Saskatchewan Canada where he practiced bovine, equine, and small animal medicine, then Brandon Manitoba, at a small animal clinic, and now here at Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital. He is very excited to work in a beautiful place surrounded by such kind people.
