Dr. Ung grew up in Manhattan Beach, CA before moving to Maryland. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from UMBC. Before entering the veterinary world, she worked in the wine & hospitality industry, gaining an appreciation for building lasting relationships with clients.
She found her passion for veterinary medicine while working at a veterinary emergency hospital in Texas, and continued her education in Animal and Biomedical Sciences. She went on to earn her DVM degree at WSU, where she worked in the ICU and spent summers volunteering at veterinary clinics traveling to Native American reservations and wildlife centers in Central America.
After graduating, she completed an internship with Pet Hospitals of Hawaii. Mentored by outstanding veterinarians and specialists, she furthered her knowledge in Community Practice, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, and Dentistry. In her free time she enjoys kayaking, hiking with her two goldens, and providing veterinary healthcare to underserved communities around the world.
